Etiquette - VSGC
Pace of Play
The perennial problem at all Clubs!
We remind members that we encourage "ready golf” at VSGC, so if it is safe to do so, please play your next shot as soon as you're ready.
If you aim to keep up with the group in front then you are doing your bit to help everyone enjoy their day and complete your round in 4 hours.
During Stableford & Par competition rounds, if you cannot score on a hole, you are to pick-up your ball, this will also speed up the pace of play.
This also allows us to spend more time “socialising” on the 19th hole after our game.
It is imperative that all golfers repair pitch marks on the green, even if it isn't yours!
At this time of year the greens are softer than usual, therefore pitch marks are more prevalent – so please keep your eye out and repair them as you see them. If everyone does at least one per green then we will have no problems!
With the conversion of the fairways to couch grass the most effective way to repair them is with sand only. Simply fill the hole with sand and level it off with the surrounding ground – no lumps of sand.
Golf clubs will always be happy to invite the VSGC back to their course knowing that we’re helping maintain the course.
Thank you for your Cooperation –
